Bonavista Apartments has once again obtained the Biosphere Sustainability Certification, granted by the Institute for Responsible Tourism, which is included within the 'Commitment to Sustainable Tourism Destination Barcelona Biosphere programme, which recognises and promotes sustainable practices in companies in the city and surrounding areas.
A few weeks ago, we shared with you that Bonavista Apartments has received the Biosphere Sustainable certification for another year, in recognition of our commitment to responsible tourism and sustainability. We would like to explain what this guarantee seal means and why it fills us with satisfaction to have received it.
The Biosphere Sustainable certification, awarded by the Responsible Tourism Institute, is part of the 'Commitment to tourism sustainability Destination Barcelona Biosphere', a comprehensive programme promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council and the City Council, among others, to recognise and promote sustainable practices in companies in the city and the region. The program provides a framework for them to assess their environmental, social, and economic impacts and implement strategies to minimise negative effects and maximise positive contributions.

Within the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, companies undergo a rigorous evaluation process by independent auditors specialised in sustainable tourism. Certification is also an ongoing process with regular audits that ensure compliance and encourage companies to strive for higher standards.
The program fosters a holistic approach to sustainability, addressing various areas such as environmental stewardship, resource efficiency, community involvement, cultural preservation, and staff well-being.
