Social Responsibility allows our company to manage based on responsible criteria in the economic, social, cultural and environmental spheres and is aimed at increasing our competitiveness and promoting sustainable development.

Through the corporate social responsibility model, economic benefit is maximized, competitiveness and company image are improved, saving costs and improving the satisfaction of staff, suppliers and customers, while contributing to building a better society and world.

With our SR model we intend to generate economic activity, employment and social cohesion.

 

Commitments:

Clients and consumers. It is the responsibility of the company to communicate precisely and transparently what the good to be acquired is and what it is for, as well as informing of the risks that are implicit and how the consumer is affected in the user experience. You must not deceive or deprive of information about any characteristic, form and origin of manufacture of the good and the materials with which the product was manufactured or the service was performed.

At Bonavista Apartments, we deal with people of any age and nationality. Attending to the sensitivity of each culture, we adapt our messages so that they are understood and assumed by all. It is informed clearly and sincerely, before, during and at the end of the stay, about any query or doubt that the guests have.

Actions that we develop:

Staff. It is necessary to identify the key factors related to labor practices, both from the point of view of the rights of workers, as well as company policies to provide opportunities for professional growth, stable and quality employment, equal opportunities, conciliation of work and personal life, safety and health at work, continuous training, the participation of people in decision-making.

From Bonavista Apartments, by having a small number of employees, it is possible to create a relatively horizontal structure, which ensures participation in decision-making for workers.

The entire life cycle of the product or service must be taken into account: from the beginning of the production process of the material and energy resources used, as well as the waste generated when the good is created, the impact generated by all the waste that is associated to the use of the product; as well as informing about the correct way to eliminate the waste generated by the service to achieve the least possible environmental impact.

At Bonavista Apartments, we are aware of the negative impact that our activity generates on the environment. For this reason, internally we opt for the recycling of all possible elements (paper/plastic/glass, batteries, small and large electrical appliances, mattresses, etc…).

In addition, with regard to the client, we adopt measures that, without being too intrusive, generate awareness and inform about what measures guests can adopt.

  • Show and promote the utmost care in the treatment of animals, the environment and the available resources.
  • Production and consumption of renewable energy.
  • Calculation of the carbon footprint to apply measures focused on reducing emissions.
  • Energy management system in order to reduce consumption.
  • Publish on Social Networks recommendations on the preservation of the environment during the stay.
  • Internal company recycling.
  • Promotion of recycling among our clients.
  • Elimination of one-person or disposable containers and replacement by refilling systems.

 

 

Community. Organizations must contribute to the development of the societies where they operate: creating employment, collaborating to improve the quality of life of the community, training people in new productive activities, etc... All these contributions will depend on the needs of each territory.

From Bonavista Apartments, being aware of the animosity of certain groups with the activity that we carry out, we believe that it is of vital importance to help as much as possible the local community in which we find ourselves, in order to reverse the feeling of prejudice that some people they may have.

We make purchases as much as possible in neighborhood stores, we employ people who already live in the city and we collaborate with associations that employ people with functional diversity.

Likewise, it should be remembered that by regulation, we must pay the amounts of the Tourist Tax quarterly to the City Council. This helps to reverse part of the damage caused by tourism.

  • Collection and management of the tourist tax for all our guests.
  • Collaboration with local associations that employ people with some type of functional diversity.

 

 

Supplier companies and individuals. Any company must maintain a determined control over the suppliers. It is not correct to affirm: "since the practice is not made by the company, we are not responsible". Some organizations find that through vendors it is relatively easy for companies to do things without taking direct responsibility. Companies must influence and facilitate the process to all organizations with which they are related so that they are socially responsible and promote good practices.

At Bonavista Apartments, we seek that any party involved in our activity complies with current regulations and goes further. Regarding suppliers of consumables (amenities, etc...), we make sure that the products comply with the highest standards in terms of sustainability, looking for products with seals such as "Rain Forest Alliance", "Fair Trade", etc...

As for indirect employees, we want everyone in the company to feel comfortable, and of course to be treated correctly and professionally.

For this reason, we make sure that our suppliers register with the Social Security and comply with the collective agreements referring to their activity. Likewise, we inform them about observations such as excessive workload per day, or the lack of rest days of any employee if these practices are detected.

  • Work with companies that comply with all their obligations and have a certain sensitivity and good treatment of their workers.
  • Work with companies that market sustainable and fair trade products.

Public sector. Organizations can collaborate with public administrations to achieve development goals in the territories where they operate. At the same time, public administrations, as organizations that act in society, must ensure that they incorporate the same concerns as the rest of the social and economic agents into their management.

Competence. It is necessary to promote collaboration between organizations in the same sector to achieve realistic and sustainable objectives over time. In recent years, there has been a growing trend to establish sectoral codes or guidelines for SR management. This is due to the fact that many companies have seen that, in the field of SR, competitors are an essential interest group (stakeholder).

At Bonavista Apartments we have well differentiated and identified our competition. There are fluid communication channels that make it possible to identify possible risks and opportunities in our sector.

  • Be a member of APARTUR (Association of Tourist Apartments).

 

Owners - shareholders. The company, as always, has the duty to look after the interests of its shareholder owners. Total transparency in communication channels and participation in decision-making must be fostered. Developing the RS reduces the risk of the company, since the groups with which it is related will be its main allies in times of crisis. On the other hand, productivity and consumer loyalty increase with a comprehensive SR strategy developed in the company.

At Bonavista Apartments, we manage apartments with a tourist license that are not owned by us. To ensure the viability and proper functioning of the company, fluid, clear and transparent communication is maintained with the owners. Informing about the improvements to be considered and agreeing on the final action to be carried out. Likewise, monthly information is also provided on the activity that we develop, occupation, billing, etc…
