Barcelona is the perfect city to get away with children for a weekend. Local museums, galleries, shops and parks are created to inspire young visitors. In every corner of the city there are playgrounds and attractions that take your kids to absolute enthusiasm.

Museo Cosmo Caixa


An impressive science museum will be interesting both to children and parents. What else can encourage that much children as to see monkeys and rhinos live? It is a huge zoo located in the most beautiful and well-known park in Barcelona – La Ciutadella. Children can enjoy the dolphin shows, pony rides or day camp in an area specially designed for walking. The zoo has over 300 varieties of animals.

The spectacular Oceanarium is the largest, with great number of species, located in the port city. It houses various species such as bream, eels, sunfish, rays and two kinds of sharks: the bull shark (Carcharias taurus) and the sandbar shark of (Carcharhinus plumbeus), the true stars of L’ Aquarium de Barcelona. In a transparent tunnel over 80 meters long you can enjoy a spectacular underwater walk. Charming La donutería in Raval neighborhood, in the modern part of the city for its locals, people and atmosphere. The owner and baker of Donutería is Richard Bies, a secret – formerly part of the team of bakers in fancy pastry known Escribà of Barcelona. Road to Tibidabo park begins with a trip on the subway from downtown Barcelona. Then you need to transfer the old Tram Blau, that takes you to the middle of the mountain.
