In September 2012 Clara Aracil and Manu Marin opened the Kilo restaurant in the Eixample of Barcelona. It was a dream of the couple, so you can see that everything is made with a lot of love. The couple have some experience with the restaurants because they used to run the Qubud restaurant in Sant Cugat.
Barcelona´s dinning scene can be proud to have restaurants such as Kilo.It delights with a fresh, fun and stylish image. With a very cool design, full of creativity, good taste, humor and great care, Kilo restaurant will surprise you in every sense. The restaurant is very original, decorated with much taste and humor. Clara and Manu wanted something fun and creative to represent food and good taste by the product of a lifetime. Therefore, any image is traditional but funny with sayings related to food.In the menu you can read phrases like “Eat and drink, life is short” .Funny sayings, blackboard full of imagination and good taste, vintage lamps.. all is designed to create a super cozy space with details that make a difference and provide it with great personality.
Its urban ‘no place’ cuisine – at prices that match reality- is the result of experience and dedication. In the kitchen, with love and enthusiasm, Manu works with the best products, rigorously selected, inventing and reinventing, in order to offer urban ‘no place’ cuisine that gets excellent results. His aim -to see people happy after eating- is fulfilled by far. Killo offers creative, season cuisine, small plates/half portions, tapas and Mediterranean dishes.A great choice will be the oysters from Marennes or pastina and porcini risotto. There are also scrambled eggs with ham, crispy ravioli with brie and truffle, foie creme brûlée with figs, salmon suke, creamy rice with sea urchin, steak tartare, mahon cheese burger, iberian pork kebab with caramelized onions and foie and a lot more. The menu is varied and really all dishes are delicious! Moreover, the gin and tonics and cocktails put the perfect end to a simply awesome dinner!
