Have you ever seen a pastry that looks like an art gallery? When you enter Bubó, you can understand the idea of going beyond limits straight away.
Bubó is a small chain of high end pastry shops in Barcelona. It was founded in 2005 with the collaboration between the design study Grumax and the creative talent of the pastry chef Carles Mampel. Mampel is one of the world’s most awarded pastry geniuses, developing a new kind of business, based on products of great quality, commercialized by an exclusive and avant-garde image, and a unique design. He is a Catalan chef who has dedicated himself to create perfectionist taste, textures and aromas. His creations are inspired and he is aware of the importance to detail.
The first Bubó store was in the Born area of Barcelona (just next to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar) and it was opened in 2005. It was an instant success. The first franchise shop opened two years later and in November of 2009 another shop in Pedralbes shopping centre in up-town Barcelona. Budó not only continue consolidating Barcelona’s presence but it is also focused on international growth.
The concept Bubó is a mixture of different elements and there is also Bar Bubó .It is another dining space with designer kitchen, but it focuses on the world of tapas. You can have delicious and original tapas. You can order the tapas separately or in a menu. The menu is cheap (16-20 Euros, choice of 6 tapas, with a drink included) and is perfect when you’re seeking for a light meal. The tapas have surprising ingredients and are presented in a creative way by a friendly, funny waiter.
In the pastry shop they are offering glittering macaroons, exquisite stacks of chocolate confections and sugar-encrusted marshmallow bonbons. Bubó’s low glass cases and urban architecture looks more like a high-end jeweler than like a typical pastry shop. Macaroons, chocolate dipped lemons, chocolate lollipops, marshmallows and much more… With your coffee you can have your precious artistic dessert that you feel bad when eating it. The talent of Carles Mampel, the pastry shop, the chocolate factory and the nouvelle cuisine, together offering an innovative product, of the highest quality, using an exclusive design.
If you want to impress someone take them to Bubó, you will achieve it easily!
